rejected
i received NTU's rejection letter. should i be feeling sad? i dont know.we were waiting for the lift after dinner and my dad passed me a letter from NTU. they thought it would be good news. but of course, deep down inside i knew it was a rejection. and you could just expect the reaction from my mum. maybe it was a glimpse of hope and then a surge of disappointment for her. isnt that obvious. shes been worrying since the day i posted/mailed out the applications.
and of course, you can then expect the scenarios that will follow. she started saying things like "what courses did you exactly apply", "how come you didnt get in for any of your choices" (i cant remember my choices of course. so i said everything related to business. which was of cos a lie since its limited. maybe i just put 1 choice. idk.) .. i cant remember what else she said. cos my thoughts were somewhere else as i knew that the same stuff would repeat from her mouth.
anyway, she also said "why arent you even feeling a bit sad?" and i told her, i dont have to show that im sad on my face right?
im not rly sad in fact lol. i mean, im rejected. rejected. so just forget abt it!
oh yes, she said things like you girls are never hardworking enough. oh and your results are so bad no unis are accepting you. and i told her, i have never ever thought that my results were bad nor very good. and her reply definitely would turn to the "being hardworking" issue.
ahhh, expected stuffs.
my sister is in year3 this yr. and sad for her, she gets nagged too. i expect the same things to repeat itself next yr at this pt of time on her again. my parents never get sick repeating the same stuff for more than 100x.
she just got nagged at for being out for dinner w her friends - wasting money & a new reason: not having enough time to study and if she can get into any unis at this rate. but my parents they dont rly see things clearly and deep enough. yes, shes been a spendthrift since she knew whats shopping. yes shes been out for dinner, but partly becos she has training twice a week. BUT they dont see that shes been studying/reading her bio tb since school started (yes first week) when no one else's does that until a week before tests/exams.
but anyway im glad im towards business because there are more choices around. be it public schools, private schools for degrees in business. as for my sis, shes in biomed kind of thing, so its either ntu or nus or ntu or nus. (yes im repeating myself) because its either local or overseas then.
anyway, anyone of you receiving acceptance/rejection letters, do tell me pls!
